On the afternoon of August 25, the grand groundbreaking ceremony for the Ramba Hills EPC project, a key overseas project of Zicheng United Construction Group located in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, was held. Attendees included Jean-Guy K. Afrika, CEO of the Rwanda Development Board; Solange Muhirwa, Chief Planner of the Kigali City Government; Vincent Yang, President of Ramba Real Estate; Guohua Jiang, Chairman of Zicheng United Construction Group; and Hao Zhang, General Manager of Zicheng United International Engineering Rwanda Co., Ltd., along with dozens of representatives from various sectors. Eight distinguished guests and representatives from the construction parties jointly performed the symbolic groundbreaking and cornerstone laying, marking the official commencement of the project.
The Ramba Hills EPC project is situated next to the scenic Kigali Golf Course. The main structures consist of two high-rise towers: a 100-meter-tall office building and an 18-story hotel-style apartment building. Additionally, a 13-story and two 11-story apartment buildings are arranged around the main structures, together creating a layered and aesthetically pleasing skyline. The total EPC contract value is $80 million, with a total investment of $100 million. Upon completion, the project will become a comprehensive landmark integrating business, leisure, and residential functions, significantly enhancing the urban image of Kigali.
As an engineering company that has grown domestically in China and expanded internationally, Zicheng United Construction Group has established wholly-owned subsidiaries in Singapore and Rwanda and is gradually developing its engineering business in Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Central and South America. The groundbreaking and launch of the Ramba Hills EPC project represent a critical step in the group’s strategy to deepen its international presence. Moving forward, the group will leverage China’s advantages in technology, management, and equipment to construct the project to world-class standards. Strict controls will be applied across all aspects, including engineering quality, safety production, and progress management, to ensure the project becomes a benchmark in Kigali’s construction sector.
The ceremony included a project exhibition and tour session. The technical team from Zicheng United International Engineering introduced the overall plan,Construction Method Statement, and sustainable design concepts to the guests, fully demonstrating the company’s capabilities in international project management, green building, and localized operations.
In recent years, Zicheng United Construction Group has actively responded to the "Belt and Road" initiative, deepening its presence in the African market and participating in multiple infrastructure projects. While focusing on engineering management and technology export, the group also emphasizes local talent training and job creation, contributing to the overall development of Rwanda’s construction industry.
The groundbreaking of the Ramba Hills EPC project marks another important milestone in Zicheng United Construction Group’s overseas development. The group will continue to deepen its roots in Africa, actively promote China-Rwanda cooperation, and contribute to the modernization of Kigali and Rwanda as a whole.
